Protecting your fostering career is at the heart of everything we do.

We provide industry-leading independent advice to foster carers to support them to provide outstanding care caring for vulnerable children and young people. We provide accredited training and wrap-around support and advice for foster carers to help them achieve the very best outcomes for looked after children.

Why foster carer support matters.

We know from current research that a lack of support and fair treatment for foster carers has been closely associated with them resigning from fostering. Because of this, we offer our foster carers a robust package of dedicated, professional support including allegations support and therapeutic training to build and secure relationships with the children in their care. We are renowned for providing foster carers with an excellent level of support. We also organise and campaign with our members on the issues which matter most to them and we firmly believe that foster carers themselves are best placed to decide on how independent support should be delivered. We are opposed to the concept of organisations purporting to be "independent" who are actually funded by fostering services.

We are pleased to have been accredited by RSQS. The accreditation mark provides confidence and assurance that we are complying with standards including sector specific legislation, corporate responsibility, information security and GDPR and it shows that we have demonstrated compliance to regulators, internal policies and governance controls.The accreditation process was undertaken by supplier information and risk management specialists Hellios and accreditation is by invitation only once you have been approached by an organisation looking to procure your services.

You may have seen John Lewis Partnership announce their intention to become a fostering friendly employer.

FosterSupport is one of the organisations who have been working with them over the past year. After many months of collaboration this August we facilitated a series of bespoke training courses to JLP managers to give them an insight into the trauma informed training foster carers use when supporting young people to enable them to better understand how to support their care experienced employees. This collaboration will continue next year as they continue to expand their employment scheme. We have also had meetings to provide advice and information to support their bespoke fostering friendly employer scheme. With our support they plan to make this the gold standard policy for fostering friendly organisations.
